I love “engagement season”!  I am in the midst of it with several shoots in the last few weeks.  I’m so excited to share images from Cami and Jesse’s session in Sacramento.  We started off at a nearby park and then made our way down to the American River for their portraits.  The wildflowers were just amazing – poppies, bluebonnet and mustard flowers.  Oh and lots of foxtails – ouch!    Cami wore a gorgeous emerald green dress and the colors just popped for their session!  I am not huge into props for my sessions, but when I do use them I like to keep them fairly simple.  I have never shot with balloons in a session before, so I though it would be fun – we incorporated green and ivory balloons into a few shots… I started with five, and two popped on the way!  Darn!  My vision was balloons in a gorgeous wheat field.  It still worked out great.  LOVE these images and cannot wait for their July wedding in Lake Tahoe!

Just one quick share for now, of the engagement session that I did for Chris and Victoria over the weekend.  I am in LOVE with this image of this sweet, adorable and in love couple!  More coming soon. I cannot wait for their June wedding on the UC Berkeley Campus.

It is so great to work with a couple that I really connected with!  They are super sweet, easy going, fun and I hope that they are moving from the Bay Area closer to me!    It was a really fun session – we shot by the American River.  It’s so pretty there… so much green, trees, and scary bicyclists!  Watch out, they ride fast on these trails.  The furbabies ended up in the water by the end of our evening… what pup could resist!    We had a great time, and I cannot WAIT for their wedding at Empire Mine in June!  So happy for you two, and excited for your wedding day!

Ok, not a engagement photograph, but my brother and his lovely wife!  I have found a gorgeous new location in Folsom where I would love to shoot an engagement session.  This time of year may not seem ideal for an engagement session, but honestly, its WONDERFUL for photos.  The sun stays very low in the sky most of the day, and lighting is very important for photography.  The last hour of the day, “the golden hour” seems even more beautiful and intense during this time of the year.  And it doesn’t rain much this time of year.  I took my brother and his family out for a shoot this past weekend, and had to share this beautiful shot.

I had a great time working with this couple, during our shoot at Empire Mine State Park.  This is one of my favorite locations to shoot, after having shot a wedding here this past Spring, as well as one this coming summer!  Jet and Nancy will be getting married next June at Oak Farm Vineyards in Lodi, and I’m so excited for the two of them.

I am so excited to be working with Brian and Jillian at their wedding next October at the Saint Claire Hotel in San Jose.  We met up to do their engagement session at Ralston Hall in Belmont, where they met at school!  They are an adorable couple, and it was fun getting to know them before their big day.

Wow, what an adorable couple, and an amazing location for a shoot!  I have a photographer friend, Nicole, who introduced me to this charming little gold rush town a few months back.  Her parents own the quaint little Coloma Country Inn Bed & Breakfast, and they graciously allowed me to shoot on their property.  I cannot thank them enough.  They also hold weddings here, so if you’re looking for a great little hometown venue, this is it!

So Tony and Vanessa are getting married in November, in Folsom, CA.  They wanted their engagement shoot to reflect their personalities and they wanted country charm.  I knew I had a location for them.  As a photographer, places like this are complete eye candy to me… haha.  I could have literally spent hours upon hours shooting this gorgeous couple at this gorgeous location.  So… here is my huge share!  Hope that you love them!

I am so excited about their September wedding at Wine & Roses in Lodi!  I was so happy to see these two, plus their gorgeous daughter, again!  I photographed their little girl when she was just a week old… and now she’s almost one!  We included her in a few of the photos too.  We started off at beautiful McKinley Park… then moved over to midtown for a few urban shots.  I love these two – so sweet and really down to earth people.  Can’t wait for September!

I’m so excited to be working with this beautiful couple in October!  We set out for our engagement shoot in Old Town Sacramento.  We stumbled upon a few other photographers while working there… funny how that happens!  Can’t wait for October!

I’m so excited to work with this sweet couple!  They booked me fairly last minute for their upcoming May wedding, and we shot their engagement session just a week before the big day!  We ended up in their hometown of Auburn, CA to take their engagement pictures.  Perfect setting for these two, who met back in middle school.  I always love stories like that.  I cannot wait to shoot their wedding at Empire Mine State Park.
